    Position Overview

    Verra Mobility’s is seeking a Staff Accountant that will be responsible for our Client Banking function. The successful individual will be responsible for the initial setup and ongoing maintenance and support of Verra Mobility’s safety and fleet client payment processing, as well as monthly reconciling of client account balances and activity, daily/weekly transmission of client funds remittances, accounting for certain banking transactions and handling the resolution and processing of exceptions related to customer payments. 

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Primary liaison with business units to confirm, configure, and maintain successful banking and payment processing for new & existing clients and troubleshoot existing banking processes.
    • Process and promptly reconcile scheduled daily, weekly or monthly cash remittances to clients and perform monthly reconciliations of client bank accounts, noting and researching reconciling items, in accordance with contracted terms and client expectations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve exceptions with customer payments, identify solutions to mitigate future exceptions, and make process improvements to streamline and create efficiencies.
    • Cash management support, including daily bank deposit preparation
    • Monthly accounting for certain client related revenues, cash balances, and related bank and credit card processing fees
    • Perform accounting procedures to record the Company’s fleet credit card settlements.
    • Assist with research and correction of transactional errors and other accounting and cash management projects, as necessary.
    • Process documentation ownership – create documentation and update existing documentation periodically; ensuring transparency of processes as well as existence of appropriate controls.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Or a combination of significant accounting experience, proficiency, and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and how they are applied will be considered. 
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting and/or other finance roles.
    • Experience with the Great Plains system desired, as well as other general database experience a plus.
    • Advanced prroficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize advanced functionality (i.e. VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.)
    • Experience with credit card processing and clearing a plus.
    • Experience with banking and associated processes a plus.
    • Willingness and ability to proactively and effectively communicate and interact cross-functionally, including with departments throughout the business with stakeholders having varying personalities.
    • Willingness and ability to research and investigate transactions and accounting entries to determine appropriateness of accounting treatment, or diagnose process errors.
    • Ability & willingness to multi-task and thrive under pressure and effectively manage time when deadlines apply.
    • Strong problem-resolution and analytical skills, including attention to detail and understanding of sensitive nature of client relations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including summarization of detailed data for reporting purposes.
